Product Overview Quicklime, also known as burnt lime, is produced by calcining limestone. Its principal active component is calcium oxide, which reacts with water to form calcium hydroxide and release heat. Product suitability depends on available lime, chemical composition, reactivity and physical sizing. Quicklime and hydrated lime are different products and should be specified separately. Project-specific standards, inspection and documentation requirements should be included so that the proposed material and supporting analysis can be reviewed.
