Product Overview Bauxite is a naturally occurring mineral ore containing aluminium-bearing minerals together with varying amounts of iron oxides, silica and other constituents. It is a principal raw material for alumina production and is also used in selected cement and industrial processes. Product suitability depends on chemical composition, mineralogy, moisture and physical sizing. Raw and calcined bauxite have different properties and should be specified separately. Include the required alumina (Al2O3), silica (SiO2), iron oxide (Fe2O3), moisture and particle-size limits. Where relevant, please also provide requirements for reactive silica, loss on ignition and other application-specific parameters. Suitability and any required standards will be reviewed against the proposed material and supporting analysis.
